Who we are
Houndy Helpers is a volunteer-led community organisation of passionate greyhound pawrents and admirers.
We use our collective skills and enthusiasm to find loving homes for retired greyhounds and show the world what amazing companions they are. Creating innovative events and online activities, we put greyhounds front and centre while strengthening a supportive community for greyhound families, both new and established.
With so many hounds looking for homes after the end of greyhound racing, we're committed to making sure every greyhound gets the retirement they deserve.
Houndy Helpers' main goals are:
- Matching retired greyhounds with loving forever homes through a careful adoption and fostering programme
- To show people, especially those living in urban areas, what perfect companions greyhounds can be
- Maintaining a welcoming community of humans and greyhounds with support and inclusion at its heart.
With everyone’s help, we can make sure gentle, quirky greyhounds are front of mind for anyone thinking of adoption.

As well as the many volunteers, greyhound owners, and admirers which form the Houndy Helpers community, we have a core team of Trustees (and their greyhounds) which help make everything happen behind the scenes:
- Alastair Donald (Piggy, Alba)
- Dawn Glover (Henry, Angie)
- Aimée Hopwood (Thommo)
- Michelle Impey (Harmony)
- Caroline Jeffreys (Nei Nei)
- Campbell Parker (Agnes)
But most importantly, our work is made
possible by a dedicated team of volunteers who share a passion for ensuring every greyhound has the opportunity to enjoy a safe, happy retirement.
